About the Duisenberg Lecture

In Singapore, September 2006, Prof. Louise Fresco, University of Amsterdam and Member of the Supervisory Board of Rabobank Nederland delivered the first Duisenberg Lecture titled “Biomass for food or fuel: Is there a Dilemma?”

Rabobank started in 2004 the tradition to host a Rabobank Luncheon Event during the occasion of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. At each year’s luncheon event, we have invited one or two prominent keynote speakers to present his or her views on a topic that is close to the heart of Rabobank and of relevance to the international development agenda. In 2006, the event was named "The Rabobank Duisenberg Lecture" in commemoration of Dr. Wim Duisenberg, who sadly passed away in July 2005.
